achieved all four learning outcomes listed on page 2. If you are not sure how
to address these criteria, be sure to ask us. In addition, you’ll be marked on
the following generic criteria:
? Quality of analysis and argument: ensure that you address/engage with
your chosen essay question; develop your argument on the basis of
and in relation to your readings/research. We also look at the
effectiveness of your use of relevant examples.
? Research: Use the reading list in this module guide to select suitable
sources. Always read as widely as possible and be discerning! – your
main sources/readings should always be academic to provide you with
the necessary knowledge, ideas, theories and arguments. Only on the
basis of engaging with such sources will you be able to critically

outlining the issues/questions at stake and summarizing the main
points/arguments to be developed in the main part of the essay. You
also need to provide a conclusion (summarizing the main findings;
possibly also highlighting issues that have emerged but would
necessitate further examination in the future and cannot be elaborated
on in this specific piece of work).
? Citation and referencing: ALWAYS reference your sources when
quoting, paraphrasing and summarizing. Your referencing style needs
to be officially recognized (for example, adhere to Harvard) and
