Your line manager is preparing to host a 2-day Global Trade Conference. As part of your internship you will assist your line manager in organising and preparing for the event. You have been asked to complete a number of tasks. Task 1 Prepare a draft presentation and speaker notes for delegates at the conference, so they can understand the differences between global business operations operating in different contexts. There are likely to be over 50 delegates present so the style of your presentation will need to take account of this. Your draft presentation and speaker notes must cover the following points on global business operations: an analysis of the differences between global business organisations working in different sectors, industries and contexts an assessment of the responsibilities of business organisations operating in a global environment an evaluation of strategies employed by business organisations operating in a global environment LO1, assessment criteria 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 Task 2 In addition to the presentation you have been asked to provide each conference delegate with a handout that sheds light on the significant economic and political factors impacting on organisations. The Chief Executive has asked Claret and Blue Consultancy to produce a booklet which his members would use as an example of the types of issues impacting on business activities in a named country. Your line manager has asked you to produce a draft for his consideration. In the booklet you must: review the environment in which global business organisations are currently operating in your named country LO4, assessment criteria 4.1, Merit Task Your booklet must also discuss strategies to address issues affecting business activities in your named country. LO4 4M1 Distinction Task Your booklet must in addition assess the opportunities and challenges to a specific business organisation of operating in your named country LO4 4D1 Task 4 At the end of the conference your line manager asks you to prepare a magazine article. The purpose of the article is to provide an exposition of the significant issues coming out of the conference and in particular the impact of global factors on business organisations. There are a number of standards in this unit which refer to a named country and learners may wish to use one country for their work, although this is not a requirement. Learners must use exemplar material to support the analysis. The report must be appropriately structured. The evaluation should be current and examine the impact of the global dimension from different perspectives, using examples. The work should lead to judgements and conclusions. Learners must provide a range of information and examples should be used to illustrate how the environment is impacting on different organisations, both favourably and unfavourably. The booklet must be appropriate for the specified audience. The learner needs to consider a range of strategies which are directly related to the named country and the learner should express views on their success or potential for success. The learner must identify the organisation and the country which are the basis for their work. The assessment must consider the strengths and weaknesses of the opportunities and challenges and lead to personal judgements. LO3 AC 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, AC 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 The learner must produce a magazine article in an appropriate format for the intended audience. The article must cover the key topics which are listed in the assignment.
